SPOKANE, Wash. (NMB) – U.S. Border Patrol Agents arrested two Mexican nationals on Tuesday at the Spokane Intermodal Bus Station who were attempting to further their illegal travels into the U.S.
A press release says that while performing their regular duties, agents encountered two Mexican nationals illegally present in the United States. Through further questioning, it was determined that one of them had illegally entered the U.S. on August 4th in Washington. The subject had traveled to Canada from Mexico and legally obtained a Canadian work permit. Recently, apprehensions of Mexican nationals through the Canadian border have increased due to Canada’s Visa Waiver Program that allows Mexican citizens to enter Canada for work or to study.
The two subjects were processed for removal and transported to the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.
